Breeding Director Fruited Vegetables
Qualifications:
- PhD in Genetics or related field within the Life Sciences
- Plant Breeding experience or professional experience demonstrating suitability for the position
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Working experience in or with the (seed/pharmaceutical) industry in R&D managerial positions.
- Excellent command of the Hebrew and English languages
Responsibilities:
- Formulate a future vision-based R&D crop strategies with clear business objectives for the fruited vegetables based on the BU strategy
- Translate the R&D crop strategies into product-oriented operational plans, steer on achieving business objectives and report on progress
- Strengthen the knowledge base of the BU and expand our freedom-to-operate and intellectual property positions
- Provide direct and functional leadership to teams and individuals.
- Maintain, build and leverage internal and external networks and relationships to support delivery of BU R&D business goals
Additional Info:
The objective of this position is to lead the development of hybrid vegetable crops with added value to our customers around the globe. You are based at our R&D centre in Mivhor, Israel and you report to the Head of R&D of the Business Unit (BU) Hazera Genetics and Nickerson-Zwaan. The Breeding Director is member of the BU R&D management team. Being part of the Vegetable Division of the Limagrain Group may also include to assume roles and assignments at the Group level.
